Welcome!
My name is Erin Behrendt, and I am majoring in Special Education- Learning Disabilities at Hope College. This website has been created with the goal of portraying my philosophy of classroom management in education. I believe that the most important component of classroom management is building and maintaining positive relationships with students. Though getting to know each student's individual strengths, needs, and interests, I believe that a respectful classroom environment can be built where where students will feel safe and secure, as well as a sense of belonging and
self-worth. Furthermore, I believe that the toughest kid can be a teacher's biggest ally if that teacher has a relationship with the student.
