Positive Behavior Supports (PBS)
Positive Behavior Supports is an approach to eliminate challenging behaviors and replace them with prosocial skills. PBS can be targeted on a single student or an entire school, and includes changing environmental variables such as physical setting, task demands, curriculum, instructional pace, and individualized reinforcement.
PBS is necessary because it decreases the need for more intrusive or aversive intervention, such as punishment or suspension, and lead to both systematic and individualized change.
